Rubbed with herbs and spices, browned in butter and oil, and then simmered in dry white wine until tender, braised pork loin chops are also a tasty keto-friendly pork dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork loin chops (1/2 inch thick and 4 ounces each)

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1 teaspoon rubbed sage

  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 3/4 cup dry white wine or apple juice

  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley

  • For the curry
  • 1 tbsp red chilli powder

  • 1 tea spoon vegetable oil

  • 2 tbsp coconut powder

  • 1 cup water

Directions

  • In a bowl, add garlic, sage, dried rosemary, salt and pepper. Mix to combine and rub the mixture over both sides of pork chops.
  • Heat up butter and oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add in pork and brown on both sides. Remove from pan.
  • In the same pan, bring wine to a boil, stirring to loosen browned bits from pan. Cook, uncovered, until liquid is reduced to 1/2 cup.
  • Bring pork chops back to the pan and return to a boil. Bring to a simmer, covered, until pork is tender, 6-8 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley.

Notes

  • You can replace white dry wine with apple juice if you prefer. Also, serve it with baked vegetables of your choice. Enjoy!

    FAQ

Is Keto Braised Pork Loin Chops suitable for a ketogenic diet?
Yes. This recipe is keto-friendly, using pork loin chops, butter, olive oil, herbs, and a small amount of dry white wine, which keeps carbohydrates low when portioned correctly.

Why are pork loin chops used for braising?
Pork loin chops are lean yet tender when cooked properly. Braising helps keep them moist while infusing flavor from herbs, butter, and wine.

    Is dry white wine keto-friendly?
Dry white wine contains fewer carbs than sweet wines. The alcohol also reduces during cooking, leaving flavor with minimal carbohydrate impact. For stricter keto, you may substitute with chicken broth.

Can I replace wine with apple juice as listed?
Apple juice is not keto-friendly due to its high sugar content. For keto diets, it is recommended to use dry white wine or unsweetened broth instead.

How do I prevent pork loin chops from becoming dry?
Avoid overcooking and keep the chops covered while simmering. Braising gently over low heat helps retain moisture and tenderness.

Are the herbs and spices keto-friendly?
Yes. Sage, rosemary, garlic, salt, pepper, and parsley are all keto-approved and add flavor without adding carbs.

What is the purpose of browning the pork first?
Browning creates a flavorful crust and adds depth to the sauce through caramelized bits left in the pan, enhancing the overall taste of the dish.

Can I make this recipe ahead of time?
Yes. The pork chops can be cooked ahead and gently reheated. The flavors often improve after resting.

    How should leftovers be stored?
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop.

What side dishes pair well with Keto Braised Pork Loin Chops?
This dish pairs well with cauliflower mash, sautéed green beans, roasted broccoli, or a fresh low-carb salad for a complete keto-friendly meal.
