Keto Garlic Roasted Asparagus – Tips & Notes
Quick & Easy:
This recipe takes only 5 minutes of prep and 15 minutes of cooking, making it a fast, keto-friendly side dish perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.
Tips for Best Results:
- Asparagus Prep: Trim the woody ends for even cooking and a tender bite. Thicker stalks may require an extra 2–3 minutes in the oven.
- Cheese Topping: Use shredded mozzarella for meltiness, but you can also experiment with Parmesan or cheddar for a sharper flavor.
- Oven Settings: Bake first to soften the asparagus, then broil or grill briefly to melt and brown the cheese. Keep a close eye while broiling to prevent burning.
- Seasoning: Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Adding a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes can give it a slight kick.
Serving Suggestions:
- Serve as a side dish for keto mains like grilled salmon, pork chops, or roasted chicken.
- Pairs well with cauliflower mash or zucchini noodles for a complete low-carb meal.
Storage:
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispness; avoid microwaving as it can make the cheese rubbery.
Variations:
- Add lemon zest or a squeeze of lemon juice before serving for a fresh, bright flavor.
- Sprinkle toasted almonds or pine nuts on top for added crunch.
- Mix in fresh herbs like parsley or thyme for additional aroma and depth.
Keto garlic roasted asparagus offers a flavorful, cheesy, and crispy side that’s simple to prepare, low in carbs, and perfect for family meals or entertaining guests.
